We know that language students are increasingly looking for good quality programmes and hope to have a wide choice of activities from which to choose. What would you like to do? Just name it! Please click here for this week Instituto Hispánico de Murcia´s activities.
In Murcia we have an excellent reputation as being a destination for open-air enthusiasts. This is why our cultural and social offerings are so wide ranging and varied.
We organise guided tours of the city and welcome parties with the aim of allowing the new students to get to know the rest of the students and the teachers. Every week we all go out for a drink and enjoy our nightlife. We also organise meals in typical restaurants or tapas bars, where students will be introduced into our gastronomy, something deeply rooted in our culture.
You will have the opportunity to find out about the Region through programmed excursions at the weekend. We take advantage of the contrasting landscapes of the Region to offer an extensive and varied list of activities.
We visit the inland mountain range as well as natural spaces on the Mediterranean coast.
Another way of finding out about our culture and our Region is through visits to craft centres, where you get to know about and obtain typical products from our potters, ceramists and cardboard craftsmen, in order to enjoy even more the pure roots of our land. We have a varied offering of sports activities, including high mountain sports, touring on bikes, rock climbing, mountaineering, orienteering in the countryside, etc.
For the most adventurous, there is also the possibility of participating in adventure sports, like rafting, hang gliding, climbing, underwater diving, etc, and taking advantage of the huge availability of water sports offered by the Mediterranean Sea, such as sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, rowing, canoeing, etc.
In other activities organised by the centre, you can attend classes on Spanish cooking, guitar playing, dancing, painting, drawing, etc., and we also take advantage of activities organised by public and private organisations in the region (cinema programmes, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, etc).
In the same way, a Spanish cinema programme and documentaries accompanied by presentations are offered and we co-ordinate an exchange service between foreign students and Spanish students who want to practice a foreign language.
Will you give it a try?
