HISPANIC STUDIES ANNUAL COURSE 2O HOURS / WEEK
The Hispanic Studies course is aimed at students and professionals who wish to widen their knowledge of the Hispanic culture and civilisation whilst improving their Spanish language.

A wide range of subjects is offered (language, literature, history, geography, history of art, sociology, politics and culture). These subjects are related to Spanish speaking countries and taught by specialists.

The course has been designed in 4-week modules to allow some students to come for just four weeks.

Each day, in the first hour we study different grammatical problems and their practical application. In the second hour we reinforce what we have previously learnt throughout practical exercises where vocabulary and idiomatic expressions are analysed. In the fourth and fifth hour we study specific subjects.

Students wishing to take this course must already have a good command of the Spanish language; a high intermediate level would be adequate. If your level is lower we advice you to take our special intensive course before starting the Hispanic Studies course and, this way, you will acquire the required level.

Subjects on offer are:

· History of Spain: Modern, Contemporary and from Franco to the Present day.
· History of Latin America: Pre-Columbian, Age of discovery, Colonial period and Contemporary.
· Socio-political structure of Spain.
· Spanish art: Antiquity to the Renaissance, and Baroque to the present day.
· Latin American civilisation and culture.
